Bio

Current: PhD student, War Studies, Royal Military College of Canada.

Resume: Experienced project manager in policy and media organizations. In past experiences, I supervised the coverage of the conflict zones of Darfur, Southern Kordofan, Blue Nile and Eastern Sudan for the Boston-based Education Development Center’s Sudan Radio Service project in Nairobi, Kenya. Prior to this, I served as a project and publications coordinator at the think-tank, The Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Canada. In the media, I was an editor at Tech Media Reports (Now the Wire Report) in Ottawa, Canada, where I covered  regulatory issues in the Canadian parliament. I hold a masters degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.

Research Interests: Insurgencies; intersection of corruption and conflict; armed group cohesion; defense policy making; national security; armed group integration; and UN peacekeeping.

Geographical Areas of Interest: South Sudan, Eastern Africa and the Horn, the Middle East.
